As
part of the course syllables for GS04: Choice
Theory And Reality Therapy, students have to
work on a project to demonstrate their understandings of the
lessons taught.
We
decide to apply our knowledge by using Choice
Theory to analyse characters from a particular
film, Spider-Man. Emphasis will
be made on the 3 main characters of the show, Peter
Parker/Spider-Man, Norman Osborn/Green Goblin and Mary Jane
Watson.
The
reason for choosing this film is because, besides being one
of our favourite movies, Spider-Man
is also our favourite super-hero. When Spider-Man came along
in the early 1960s, most comic book heroes were noted for
their superpowers, not their personalities. But here was a
complex and detailed portrait of a young man as frustrated
with the world as many of his readers.
We
hope that this website will not only draw your attention to
such a wonderful movie but also provoke an interest in the
discussion of Choice Theory.
